QC Project Leader 80-100% (m/w/d)

Lonza, a worldwide leader in life‑science solutions operating on three continents, is hiring a QC Project Leader for its Visp site in Switzerland. The position supports the Manufacturing Science and Technology function for drug products, focusing on successful technology transfers, GMP compliance and ongoing process improvement. Relocation assistance is offered for the successful candidate and their family. The role involves steering quality‑control projects from start to finish, setting scope, timelines and resources while keeping stakeholders informed and escalating issues when needed. Daily tasks include directing chemical and physical analyses of raw materials, in‑process samples and final products using techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, KF and FTIR, and guaranteeing data integrity and timely support for releases. The incumbent will design, validate and transfer chromatographic methods in line with ICH and regulatory expectations, troubleshoot instruments, manage change controls, deviations and investigations, and document all findings according to GMP standards. Interaction with customers, external labs and internal teams, R&D, Production, QA, is essential, as is providing technical coaching to junior chemists and contributing to audit activities and continuous‑improvement projects. The candidate must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline, or alternatively a Master's/Bachelor's degree combined with substantial industry experience. A deep practical knowledge of analytical chemistry, particularly hands‑on work with HPLC and GC, is required. Familiarity with GMP/cGMP regulations and the ability to communicate fluently in both German and English are mandatory. The role also demands strong problem‑solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, proven organizational and project‑management abilities, and effective communication and leadership qualities to work across functions.
