Compliance Officer - Sanctions

As a Compliance Officer in the Compliance Support and Sanctions unit, you will join a multicultural team of over a thousand employees who work flexibly and without a dress code, contributing to the bank’s ambition to shape the future of finance. In this position you will carry out sanctions due‑diligence on new and existing clients, analyse genuine sanctions alerts raised by the monitoring system, and evaluate exposure to sectoral sanctions, export controls, dual‑use goods and restricted industries. You will advise on whether to accept, reject or further investigate client relationships, support fellow compliance officers on sanction matters, and keep the bank informed of regulatory developments that could affect its clientele. Drafting and updating sanctions policies, fine‑tuning screening tools, contributing to risk‑tolerance monitoring, and handling ad‑hoc reporting requests such as audits or regulatory reviews are also part of the daily routine. Additionally, you will deliver focused training on sanctions, prepare internal memoranda and presentations, and provide guidance to senior management. The role requires a solid background in financial sanctions and a good grasp of Swiss banking and financial legislation. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or economics, possess three to five years of experience in the financial sector, and demonstrate strong analytical, methodological and communication skills in both French and English. Proficiency with PowerPoint, the ability to prioritize heavy workloads, and a collaborative mindset suited to a dynamic, international environment are essential.
