Principal Architect

OWT, a strategy and technology consulting firm that partners with Anthropic on Alpha Factory – Switzerland’s first centre of excellence for human‑centred AI – is seeking a Principal Architect for its Zurich office. The role will steer transformation initiatives for leading Swiss organisations, creating cloud‑native solutions that are scalable, secure and aligned with business goals. The architect will design and deliver container‑based systems and CI/CD pipelines that embed AI capabilities, overseeing projects from pre‑sales discussions through to production rollout. Responsibilities include defining strategic architectural choices, producing documentation such as ADRs and guidelines, and acting as the technical liaison between development teams and stakeholders. The position also involves hands‑on activities like code reviews, proof‑of‑concept work, AI pipeline design, and mentoring colleagues while ensuring consistency across the technical landscape. Candidates need more than ten years of software‑architecture experience on large‑scale initiatives, strong knowledge of modern patterns such as micro‑services, event‑driven and clean architecture, and expertise in SOLID and DDD principles. Proficiency in either Java Spring Boot or .NET, along with practical experience in cloud and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, AWS) and DevSecOps practices, is required. Fluency in German and English at C1 level is mandatory; French is a plus. The role offers a collaborative, client‑focused environment, a hybrid work model, a clear career progression path, and a competitive salary that supports a healthy work‑life balance.
