Senior Full Stack Engineer

The Senior Full Stack Engineer role is pivotal in this mission, working on the manufacturing intelligence team to capture data, automate processes, and accelerate production. The main day-to-day responsibilities of a Senior Full Stack Engineer at SAEKI involve a variety of tasks. These include turning operator spreadsheets into workflows, integrating machine data into scheduling systems, and streamlining the quoting process. The role also involves owning problems end-to-end across the customer portal, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and the data layer connecting them to the shop floor. This includes capturing process, machine, and quality data, automating manual steps in various processes, and identifying bottlenecks in the production flow. Additionally, the role involves building user-friendly interfaces for operators, engineers, and customers. To qualify for this role, candidates must have at least three years of experience as a software engineer, with a proven track record in building backend applications. Ideally, this experience should be in the manufacturing sector. Candidates should also have a broad technical range, including experience in systems design, architecture, and implementation. Familiarity with technologies such as Rust, PostgreSQL, React, Python, and AWS is essential. The role requires end-to-end ownership, from user interaction to rollout, and the ability to work autonomously. Comfort with spending time on the shop floor to understand the workings of precision machinery is also crucial. Nice-to-have skills include knowledge of manufacturing processes and a basic understanding of the Manufacturing Automation Pyramid. The role is based at SAEKI's HQ in Zurich, Switzerland, with occasional travel to Factory ONE in Munich, Germany.
