Radar System Engineer

Destinus is a defense‑focused company that builds cutting‑edge unmanned aerial vehicles for government agencies and military customers around the globe. As a Radar System Engineer you will help create the next generation of digital radar hardware that must meet extreme size, weight, power and cost limits while delivering top‑level performance for mission‑critical aerospace missions. Your daily work will involve constructing behavioral models of bistatic radar configurations and running system‑level simulations to forecast key performance indicators such as signal‑to‑noise ratio and resolution. You will compare those predictions with measured data, draft detailed requirements and specifications, and steer cross‑disciplinary studies that span hardware, software, signal processing and mechanical aspects. Collaboration with RF designers, digital designers, software engineers, signal‑processing specialists and mechanical engineers will be a core part of the role. The position requires a solid grasp of transmitter and receiver architectures, including amplifiers, mixers, filters, clock circuits, phase‑locked loops, and both analog‑to‑digital and digital‑to‑analog converters. You should be comfortable building behavioral representations of RF and analog components, preferably using Python, and have a firm foundation in waveform creation and digital communications theory as well as radar signal‑processing concepts. Strong problem‑solving abilities, clear communication, and the capacity to work within multidisciplinary teams are essential. Experience with bistatic radar and familiarity with FPGA technology are considered advantageous. The role offers the chance to work in a highly innovative environment where advanced sensing systems are pushed to new limits, alongside a team that values curiosity, hands‑on development and rapid technological advancement.
