The position sits within the Group Security & Technology Platforms (GSTP) unit and joins the Cyber Defence team, a group of specialists dedicated to delivering reliable, scalable security foundations across the company's technology landscape. In this role you will supervise the security‑operations centre, using sophisticated monitoring tools to watch for alerts, spot threats in real time and coordinate the response to incidents. You will lead investigations of major cyber events, contain breaches, and apply remediation measures while continuously refining detection content. Keeping the team informed with up‑to‑date threat intelligence and participating in on‑call rotations to handle urgent issues are also key parts of the daily workflow. The ideal candidate brings solid experience as a security analyst or incident responder, preferably within a SOC or CSIRT environment. You must possess deep familiarity with today's threat ecosystem, offensive tooling, and recognised frameworks such as OWASP, MITRE ATT&CK and the Cyber Kill Chain. Proven ability to analyse malware or exploits, strong problem‑solving aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent written and spoken English are essential. You should also be comfortable presenting complex security topics to both technical peers and non‑technical stakeholders while thriving in a fast‑paced setting. Additional assets include programming or scripting skills in Python, Kusto or similar languages, hands‑on experience with cloud platforms like Azure or Amazon AWS, and practical knowledge of security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR or DLP solutions. The position follows a hybrid work model, splitting time equally between remote work and the office, with an expectation of being on‑site two to three days each week. Swiss Re promotes an inclusive, flexible environment where diverse perspectives are valued and continuous learning is encouraged.
