The Data Platform Owner Databricks (a) role involves overseeing the Databricks platform comprehensively, from strategy and architecture to operations, security, compliance, cost management, and roadmap development. This includes leading the transition to a production-grade, GxP-qualified lakehouse on AWS, defining platform architecture and standards, and ensuring GxP compliance and data integrity. The role also involves managing day-to-day platform operations, driving cost optimization, and enabling self-service data capabilities. To qualify for this role, candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in data platform engineering or ownership, with a minimum of 3 years managing Databricks in production. Strong hands-on expertise in Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, workspace administration, and Databricks SQL is required. Experience running Databricks on AWS, with knowledge of IAM, VPC, S3, and KMS, is essential. A good understanding of GxP requirements and regulated environments, including GAMP 5, ALCOA+, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, EU GMP Annex 11, and change control, is also necessary. Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD, such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Databricks Asset Bundles, is required. Nice-to-have skills include experience in pharma, biotech, or CDMO environments and/or qualification and validation of cloud data platforms. Familiarity with data integration, governance, OT/IT data flows, and ML/AI workloads is beneficial. Databricks certifications and German language skills are a plus.
