The Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) is a Swiss‑based international NGO that works to eliminate torture and ill‑treatment through advocacy, partnership and dialogue. APT is looking for a Fundraising Manager who will steer and expand the organisation's fundraising programme in line with its Strategic Plan. In this hands‑on role the manager will design, launch and regularly review APT's fundraising strategy, nurture existing institutional donors and seek new funding sources. Daily tasks include spotting opportunities, drafting proposals, coordinating internal inputs, maintaining donor records, and overseeing the full grant cycle from application to reporting. The position also involves preparing strategic donor updates, ensuring compliance with contracts, contributing to communication material, and representing APT at relevant events and conferences. The ideal candidate holds a university degree or equivalent in fundraising, marketing, philanthropy or a related discipline and brings at least eight years of professional experience in fundraising, donor relations, grant management or organisational development within the non‑profit, international development or human‑rights sectors. Proven success in obtaining and managing funds from both public and private institutional donors as well as individuals is essential, together with experience handling complex funding proposals and donor reports. Working in an international, multicultural environment is also required. The role is based in Geneva on a full‑time, open‑ended contract (40 hours per week) with a start date of 16 November 2026 or earlier. APT's team of 16 staff members operates across Geneva and other global locations, offering a collaborative setting. While a network in the Swiss donor and philanthropy community and the ability to work autonomously in a small NGO are considered advantageous, the position promises direct impact on the organisation's mission to achieve societies free from torture. What the role asks for: - University degree or equivalent in fundraising, marketing, etc. - At least eight years fundraising or donor‑relations experience - Proven track record securing public and private institutional funding - Experience managing complex grant proposals and donor reports - Experience in international, multicultural settings - Strong commitment to human‑rights objectives - Network in Swiss donor and philanthropy community (nice‑to‑have) - Ability to work autonomously in a small NGO (nice‑to‑have)
