Elastic, the Search AI Company, builds a cloud‑based platform that combines real‑time search with artificial intelligence to help organisations secure data, detect threats and accelerate results. The Principal Product Manager (XDR and Exposure Management) will lead the XDR product line and its expansion into exposure and vulnerability capabilities, shaping a unified security solution used by many Fortune 500 customers. In this role you will own the end‑to‑end XDR strategy, covering detection and response across endpoint, cloud, identity and network. You will drive the integration of exposure and vulnerability features such as patch management, device control and remediation workflows, while managing noise reduction to keep the capabilities effective. You will collaborate with the Entity Analytics team to feed asset‑criticality signals into prioritisation, act as the product voice for senior security leaders, and translate market and competitive insights into a differentiated roadmap. You will also produce artefacts like roadmap trackers, decision memos and competitive briefs to keep internal and external stakeholders aligned without endless meetings. The position requires extensive experience: seven to ten years in product management, with at least four years focused on security or B2B enterprise software. You must have hands‑on knowledge of XDR, EDR or SIEM, either as a product manager or from a practitioner background such as a SOC analyst or detection engineer. A deep understanding of how raw scanning differs from true exposure prioritisation, and why exploitability outweighs CVSS severity, is essential. You also need a solid grasp of the analytics and data‑science techniques that underpin detection and prioritisation, as well as the ability to write high‑quality requirements that engineering can act on without further clarification. Success in this role also depends on strong executive presence and cross‑functional fluency. You should be comfortable speaking directly with C‑suite and VP‑level customers, delivering roadmap direction and difficult news while preserving relationships. Proven experience working across product, engineering, sales and customer‑success teams is required, as is the credibility to assess architectural feasibility and scope. While not mandatory, a practitioner background before moving into product and familiarity with AI‑security concepts are considered valuable. What the role asks for: - 7–10 years product management experience - 4+ years in security or B2B enterprise software - Hands‑on knowledge of XDR, EDR or SIEM - Understanding of exposure and vulnerability prioritisation - Solid grasp of analytics and data‑science for detection - Ability to write high‑quality requirements and assess feasibility - Executive presence with C‑suite and VP‑level stakeholders - Experience across product, engineering, sales and customer success
