Professorship in One Health (open rank)

The University of Basel, together with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute, is seeking a professor at any rank to lead a One Health programme. The appointment will strengthen Swiss TPH’s research agenda, especially theoretical and methodological work on integrated health approaches, and will be embedded in Basel’s broader life‑sciences environment. The incumbent will expand the institute’s research portfolio by developing and applying interdisciplinary One Health frameworks, and will teach graduate and professional postgraduate courses. In addition, the role includes acting as a recognised expert, offering advice and consultation to both internal teams and external policy‑makers and stakeholders. The position is open rank, indicating that candidates with a proven record of scholarly achievement in One Health research and teaching are welcome. While the posting does not list specific degrees, certifications, or language requirements, it expects a strong background in integrated health sciences and experience in higher‑education instruction. No additional qualifications are stipulated, and the posting does not mention particular nice‑to‑have skills or benefits beyond the academic setting in Basel. Applications must be submitted by 6 July 2026.
