Data Science Expert - Remote

The position is a contract role for a Data Scientist who will collaborate with a prominent AI research group. The focus of the engagement is to assess how accurately artificial‑intelligence tools can handle authentic data‑science tasks, shaping the standards that define high‑quality output. Each day will involve crafting clear, task‑specific rubrics for a variety of deliverables such as statistical analyses, predictive models, visual dashboards, experiment summaries, and written advice. The contractor will then evaluate both machine‑produced and human‑generated examples against those rubrics, providing thorough written explanations for every rating. Consistency and evidence‑based reasoning are essential, and feedback from senior reviewers must be incorporated swiftly to refine the assessment process. Applicants need a minimum of five years’ experience performing data‑science work in a business environment, preferably within product, growth, or operations teams at leading technology firms. Proficiency in experimental design, A/B testing, metric formulation, and data manipulation using SQL and Python is required, as is the ability to convey insights to senior leadership. Strong written communication and a meticulous, repeatable approach to judgment are mandatory. Experience with AI model training, evaluation, or projects that blend human and algorithmic data is considered a valuable addition. The role is fully remote, allowing the individual to set their own hours. Compensation is issued weekly through Stripe or Wise, and the contract may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified candidates.
