The Senior Electronics Engineer, Carrier Board role involves designing and managing the development of GPU/SoC carrier boards for the company's robotic compute platform. This includes handling everything from schematic capture to PCB layout, bring-up, and production release. The main day-to-day responsibilities include designing and integrating high-speed digital interfaces and sensor front-ends into compact, reliable board designs. This involves working with interfaces such as multi-gigabit Ethernet, DDR4, PCIe, MIPI CSI-2, GMSL SerDes, and USB 3.x, as well as designing electrical front-ends for sensors and modules like cameras, LIDARs, RADARs, and wireless connectivity (WiFi/5G). The role also entails managing supplier and partner relationships, defining development priorities, and driving sourcing decisions. Key requirements for this role include a strong background in electronics engineering, experience with high-speed digital interfaces, and the ability to manage supplier and partner relationships. The ideal candidate should be proficient in designing electrical front-ends for various sensors and modules, and have experience with PCB layout and bring-up. Additionally, the role requires the ability to make trade-off decisions and communicate them effectively to stakeholders. Nice-to-have skills include the ability to collaborate closely with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams, and provide signal integrity guidance for PCB layout. The role is based in a dynamic environment where the team works on cutting-edge technology to enhance the capabilities of autonomous robots.
