The Staff DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for leading the technical aspects of the software factory. This includes defining how software is built, secured, and released across the organization. The role involves owning the roadmap, architecture, and tooling that enable every engineering team to deliver software securely, consistently, and at scale. The engineer will work closely with various teams, including Architecture, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Product Development, to drive an automation-first culture. The main day-to-day responsibilities include defining and evolving the software factory, which encompasses CI/CD platforms, release engineering, developer tooling, Infrastructure as Code, dependency management, and software supply-chain security. The engineer will also deliver secure-by-default engineering practices through automated security controls, policy enforcement, vulnerability management, compliance automation, and AI-driven workflows. Additionally, the role involves mentoring engineers, establishing engineering standards, and collaborating across technical teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly automated development platforms. Nice-to-have skills include experience with agentic automation and AI-enabled workflows. The role is based in College Park, Maryland, with operations across multiple locations globally. The team at IonQ is focused on making quantum platforms more accessible and impactful, providing a dynamic and innovative work environment.
