Tool Store Specialist

A global leader in engine maintenance, repair and overhaul, based in Zurich, has been operating for more than nine decades. The position of Tool Store Specialist reports to the Head of New Engines Operations and is tasked with overseeing the storage, distribution and upkeep of all tools, equipment and consumables required for work on PW1100G‑JM and LEAP powerplants. Each day the specialist will keep the tool inventory current, monitor stock levels, record hand‑overs to technicians and arrange regular calibration in line with regulatory and quality expectations. Safety procedures for handling and storing items will be enforced, and the role will apply 5S, Lean and other improvement methods to boost productivity, reduce waste and control expenses. Close cooperation with various internal groups ensures that operational demands are met efficiently. The ideal candidate has completed a technical vocational program, preferably in metal or aviation mechanics, and brings more than five years of experience in aviation MRO or production, especially in engine‑related tool management. A solid grasp of aviation authority rules concerning tools, advanced skills in Microsoft Office and ERP/SAP systems, and strong organisational and communication abilities are essential. Demonstrated success with Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous‑improvement initiatives, meticulous attention to detail, fluency in English at C1 level and at least a B2 level in German are required.
