The Biospecimen Specialist role is part of Proclinical's research‑focused offering, supporting a client that drives pharmaceutical innovation. In this position you will be responsible for the Employee Specimen Donation Program (ESDP) and for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of a biorepository that stores and ships biological samples for research projects. Your daily tasks will include designing and running promotional activities to encourage employee donations, processing and registering incoming specimens, preparing shipment kits, and handling inventory searches. You will manage the full project lifecycle to meet external customer requests, coordinate with permitting authorities and compliance teams to satisfy import/export and safety rules, and perform data‑review, quality checks, discrepancy resolution and entry into validated LIMS or similar systems. Accurate documentation of collection procedures and study details, as well as adherence to legal, ethical and privacy standards, will be essential. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences or an equivalent background in sample acquisition, biobanking or a related discipline. Candidates must have hands‑on experience with biological material, including potentially infectious specimens, and a solid understanding of ethics, informed‑consent processes and data‑privacy regulations such as GDPR. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and validated laboratory information systems is expected, together with meticulous attention to detail, strong organisational abilities and excellent written and verbal communication in English (minimum B2). The job also demands the physical capacity to lift up to 10‑15 kg and prior experience in research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, CRO or medical‑device environments. While German language skills are not mandatory, they are considered an advantage, and experience across the broader life‑science industry is viewed positively. The position is based in an EU location, and candidates must hold the right to work there or possess an EU passport. The role offers the chance to work autonomously while collaborating with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders in a fast‑moving, compliance‑driven environment. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences - Experience in sample acquisition, biobanking or related field - Hands‑on handling of biological specimens - Knowledge of ethics, informed consent and GDPR - English proficiency at B2 level or higher - Ability to lift 10‑15 kg - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and LIMS - Strong attention to detail and organisational skills - German language skills (nice-to-have) - Experience in research, diagnostics, pharma, CRO or medical‑device sectors (nice-to-have)
