The Process Safety Engineer role is part of the Process Safety team at an industrial site in Geneva, Switzerland. The company focuses on managing risks associated with chemical processes and ensuring the safety of industrial operations. The engineer will report to the HSE/Process Safety Department and work in a demanding industrial environment, providing technical support to various teams, including Production, Maintenance, and Engineering. The main day-to-day responsibilities include conducting and updating process risk assessments, such as HAZOP, What-If, and LOPA studies. The engineer will identify potential risk scenarios, recommend prevention and protection measures, and contribute to safety studies for existing facilities and new projects. Additionally, the role involves interpreting thermal safety test results, analyzing complex technical data, and providing clear recommendations. The engineer will also participate in design reviews of equipment and industrial installations, ensuring safety requirements are met throughout the design process. Furthermore, the role includes participating in Management of Change (MOC) processes, assessing the Process Safety impact of technical changes, and supporting the implementation of Process Safety standards. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Master's degree or engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Process Safety within a chemical or pharmaceutical industrial environment is required. Proven experience conducting Process Safety studies and strong knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and ATEX methodologies are essential. Good knowledge of international Process Safety standards, such as API, CCPS, IEC 61511, and SEVESO, is also necessary. The ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications is crucial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and training skills, are required. Fluency in French and good technical English, particularly for reading and writing international HSE documentation, are must-haves. Nice-to-have skills include the ability to work independently and a proactive, team-oriented approach. The role is based in Geneva, Switzerland, with a 100% employment rate. The start date is to be defined.
