Laboratory Technician I - QC (Environmental Monitoring & Microbiology)

Within its Professional Scientific Services division, the Laboratory Technician I – QC (Environmental Monitoring & Microbiology) joins the Environmental Monitoring and Microbiology teams that operate on‑site at client facilities. The daily work involves carrying out routine environmental monitoring in classified production zones, such as sampling air, surfaces and personnel. You will also perform microbiological analyses, including bioburden counts, endotoxin assays, BacT testing and plate reading. Results are reviewed for any irregularities, and you will assist investigations when needed. Maintaining GMP‑compliant documentation, supporting equipment calibration, and ensuring smooth laboratory operations are also part of the role, as is close collaboration with Quality Assurance and Manufacturing groups. Candidates must hold either an apprenticeship (EFZ) as a Laboratory Technician in biology, chemistry or microbiology, or a bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field. Ideally, you bring about two years of experience working in a GMP environment, are comfortable with sample collection in controlled settings, and have handled consumables and laboratory supplies. Strong communication and teamwork abilities are required, and fluency in English is essential; German language skills are considered a plus.
