USP Manufacturing Specialist

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an Upstream Manufacturing Specialist to join its team in Lengnau, Switzerland. In this position you will run the production of recombinant products using automated equipment and help project teams design, commission, qualify and validate new upstream production lines. Daily duties include preparing the facility for upstream processing and cleaning, taking part in technology transfers of new products, and executing validation activities such as CVQ, PQ and process validation. You will also manage work instructions and standard operating procedures for your area, support manufacturing excellence initiatives, define robust process parameters during routine campaigns, and engage in new product introduction efforts. The role requires a university degree in pharmaceutical, food or chemistry and between one and three years of successful experience in pharmaceutical operations within a GMP‑regulated environment. Candidates must have prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry, a willingness to learn, a proactive “can‑do” mindset and a hands‑on approach. The position involves shift work and on‑call responsibilities, and adherence to strict cleanroom and personal protective equipment standards.
