WinGD, a historic developer of two‑stroke marine engines headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, is dedicated to advancing sustainability within global shipping. The company seeks a Model Integration & Virtualization Engineer (m/f/d) to join its international team and contribute to the creation of environmentally responsible propulsion solutions. In this role you will design, implement and keep up‑to‑date control‑focused models of two‑stroke engines and their subsystems for Software‑in‑the‑Loop, Model‑in‑the‑Loop and Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop scenarios. You will build scalable Simulink architectures following modern Model‑Based Development practices, connect engine models to real‑time platforms such as National Instruments and Speedgoat, and develop CAN, CANopen and Modbus interfaces. Close cooperation with engine simulation specialists and clear communication of technical findings to management are also essential. The position requires a master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering (or an equivalent qualification). You must be comfortable with MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow and have proven ability to produce structured, modular Simulink models using MBD tools like Projects, Data Dictionaries, Variant Management and Model References. Solid understanding of CAN, CANopen and Modbus protocols and fluency in English are mandatory. While German language skills are not compulsory, they are viewed positively, and prior work with NI, Speedgoat or dSPACE platforms, as well as experience in verification and validation within an MBD framework, are considered advantageous. What the role asks for: - MSc in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation Engineering (or equivalent) - Proficient with MATLAB, Simulink and Stateflow - Experience building modular Simulink models using MBD methods - Knowledge of CAN, CANopen and Modbus communication protocols - Very fluent in English - nice-to-have: German language skills - nice-to-have: Experience with NI, Speedgoat or dSPACE platforms - nice-to-have: Familiarity with V&V processes in MBD
