Senior Back-End Engineer (Python)

ZYTLYN Technologies builds predictive AI tools for the $11 trillion travel sector, helping airlines, airports, hotels and other travel brands forecast demand, pricing and market shifts. As a Senior Back‑End Engineer (Python) you will join a small, high‑performing team, reporting directly to the CEO within a flat organisational structure and collaborating closely with engineering and data‑science colleagues. Your daily work will revolve around creating and maintaining scalable backend APIs and services using FastAPI, Flask and PostgreSQL, while shaping the AWS‑based architecture for performance, reliability and security. You will drive CI/CD best practices through GitLab pipelines, implement automated testing, and manage containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes. Close partnership with product managers, frontend engineers and data teams will be essential to deliver robust solutions that power analytics and product features, and you will also mentor fellow engineers and help evolve the team’s tooling and workflow. The role requires at least five years of experience designing and building backend systems or APIs, solid hands‑on expertise with Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask) and relational databases, and a proven track record of deploying applications in AWS. Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab workflows, Docker and Kubernetes is mandatory, as are strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset that values team success. Additional assets include familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Next.js, knowledge of MLOps, embeddings, vector databases and related LLM technologies, background in data engineering, and experience with Terraform or observability tools.
