Senior Satellite Payload Systems Engineer – Digital Payload

CORIS INNOVATION SA is looking for a Senior Satellite Payload Systems Engineer to join its international R&D team in Lausanne, Switzerland. The company develops next‑generation satellite communication systems, with this position concentrating on the digital and back‑end architecture of telecommunications payloads, from system definition through to in‑orbit activities. In this role you will define and develop digital telecommunications payload architectures and contribute to on‑board processing, regenerative payload and digital processing concepts. You will translate mission and system needs into clear payload and subsystem requirements, manage hardware‑software‑payload interfaces, and perform system‑level trade‑offs and SWaP‑C analyses. Daily work includes close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering groups and external partners, reviewing supplier solutions, supporting payload development through design, integration, verification and qualification, and taking part in test definition, technical reviews, AIT/AIV, launch preparation and in‑orbit commissioning. You will also present technical documentation at major engineering and design reviews. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree or PhD in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Space Systems or a related field and brings at least eight years of experience in satellite telecommunications and digital payload systems. Proven experience in satellite telecommunications payload architecture, digital or regenerative payloads, on‑board processing and digital signal processing, as well as satellite system engineering and requirements management, is required. Applicants must be Swiss or EU (27) citizens or hold a valid Swiss work permit. Additional advantages include experience with RF communication chains, antennas, TT&C, FPGA/SoC technologies, orbital analysis tools or satellite operations. The position offers full‑time employment, a salary ranging from CHF 130 000 to CHF 160 000 per year, and the chance to influence technical decisions in a highly collaborative, multinational environment.
