The Operations & Manufacturing (Strategy & Transformation) Manager / Senior Manager role sits within PwC Switzerland's Supply Chain & Operations practice. The team helps leading organisations in pharma, life‑sciences, industrial manufacturing and consumer goods to design and execute high‑impact strategies across production, supply networks, quality and broader operational functions. You will work closely with PwC and Strategy& colleagues worldwide in an inclusive, entrepreneurial setting. In this position you will shape client strategies, design transformation programmes and oversee their rollout. Core duties involve advising on manufacturing‑related strategy topics such as fit‑for‑growth, make‑or‑buy decisions, CDMO ecosystems, smart/AI‑driven factories, digital plants, asset efficiency and operational excellence, while also touching on network design and sustainability. You will lead project workstreams, conduct problem‑solving and data analysis, craft solution designs and produce client‑ready deliverables. Direct interaction with client stakeholders through workshops, presentations and discussions is expected, as is mentoring junior team members and supporting business‑development activities like proposal writing and identifying follow‑on work. Thought‑leadership contributions on manufacturing transformation and digital operations are also part of the remit. The ideal candidate holds a master's degree in business, engineering or a comparable discipline from a recognised university. At least five years of relevant experience in management or strategy consulting, industrial operations, manufacturing, supply‑chain, engineering or related fields is required. Demonstrated ability to lead workstreams, structure analyses and deliver high‑quality client outputs is essential. Strong analytical and conceptual problem‑solving skills, hands‑on experience with AI tools for research and slide creation, and excellent communication and presentation abilities in client‑facing settings are mandatory. Fluency in English is compulsory; proficiency in German or French is a plus. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and a willingness to travel to client sites are also expected.
