The position of IT Support & Operations Engineer (human) is based in NEURA's Zurich office, where roughly one hundred employees rely on a fully connected Microsoft 365 environment, Windows and Mac computers, Linux workstations linked to Active Directory, and a range of peripherals and networking gear. The role sits within the central IT organisation headquartered in Germany and acts as the on‑site technology champion for the Swiss location. Every day you will be the first person contacted when hardware or software stops working. Your tasks include provisioning and maintaining Windows and macOS devices, applying updates, and handling basic Intune/Entra ID actions. You will also resolve routine issues on AD‑joined Linux machines, install and service printers and other peripherals, and keep the local network, including wired connections, Wi‑Fi and switch ports, running smoothly. When a problem exceeds your scope, you will hand it over to the Riederich team with all relevant details, while also managing equipment hand‑overs for new hires and departures and keeping inventory records up to date. Coordination with local suppliers for hardware repairs and printer servicing forms part of the job, as does adhering to central IT procedures and documenting recurring incidents for future improvement. The ideal candidate has completed an Informatiker/in EFZ apprenticeship (preferably with a systems‑technician focus) or holds a bachelor's degree in computer science or a comparable field. Several years of hands‑on, generalist support across Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365 and Linux are required, together with practical experience administering Microsoft Entra ID and M365 (users, groups, MFA, licensing). Familiarity with AD‑joined Linux clients and the ability to troubleshoot local network, WLAN and basic switch configurations are essential. The role demands an independent, well‑structured work style, fluency in German and English at B2 level or higher, and occasional travel to the Riederich headquarters for onboarding sessions or team events. Working in Zurich offers a modern office environment, close collaboration with a well‑staffed central IT team, and the chance to become the go‑to technology resource for a dynamic, international workforce. The position provides a blend of hands‑on technical work and strategic coordination, supporting both daily operations and longer‑term IT improvements. What the role asks for: - IT apprenticeship (Informatiker/in EFZ) or related Bachelor's degree - Several years of generalist support across Windows, macOS, M365, Linux - Practical knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and M365 administration - Experience with AD‑joined Linux workstations - Ability to troubleshoot local network, WLAN and basic switches - Independent, structured approach as sole on‑site IT contact - Fluent German and English (minimum B2 level) - Willingness to travel occasionally to Riederich HQ
