Experienced Electro-Mechanical R&D Engineer

Sécheron Hasler Group, a Swiss‑heritage company with more than 140 years in railway technology, supplies electrical safety components, traction power systems and solutions for renewable energy, DC grids and other industrial applications. The Geneva office is seeking an experienced Electro‑Mechanical R&D Engineer to join its global team of over 1 300 staff. In this position you will translate advanced concepts into manufacturable, cost‑effective and durable designs, while reviewing and challenging drawings created by others. You will act as a reference point and mentor for robust‑design practices, collaborate with several departments to support existing products, and apply hands‑on skills for experimental assembly and testing of complex, multi‑physical systems. The role requires a Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Micro‑technics, Mechatronics or a related field. Essential expertise includes tolerance management, robust‑design methodology, design‑to‑cost and finite‑element analysis using tools such as SolidWorks, COMSOL or ANSYS. You must be comfortable developing intricate systems that combine electrical, mechanical and magnetic technologies, and possess solid knowledge of machining processes and materials like plastics and thermosets. Fluency in English is mandatory; French or German are advantageous. Familiarity with ISO GD&T, functional analysis, FMEA and basic power‑electronics concepts is also expected.
