Mechanical Engineer - Radar

Destinus is a European‑focused defence firm developing radar, high‑frequency electronics and RF systems to strengthen continental security. As a Mechanical Engineer – Radar you will join a fast‑growing start‑up that aims to deliver lightweight, durable, RF‑transparent structures for a range of platforms. Your daily work will revolve around designing enclosures and radomes, selecting materials for optimal strength, weight and corrosion resistance, and running structural analyses for vibration, shock and wind loads. You will ensure sealing, gasketing and coating solutions meet stringent IP or MIL‑STD ratings, and create mounting and integration concepts for vehicles, towers, UAVs and fixed installations. Maintaining precise radar alignment, you will also develop passive and active cooling schemes, perform thermal simulations and tests, and assist electronics engineers with thermomechanical PCB co‑design. Prototyping, manufacturing support and quality assurance of the final parts will complete the cycle. The role requires solid command of Siemens NX and Teamcenter, experience with mechanical finite‑element and thermal simulation tools, and a good grasp of metal, composite and polymer properties. You must have worked on environmental sealing to IP65/IP67 or comparable military standards, be comfortable with precision assemblies and tolerancing, and possess background in radar, RF or high‑frequency electronics packaging. Familiarity with MIL‑STD‑810 or similar test regimes and proficiency in 3D‑printing technologies are also essential. Additional assets include knowledge of ISO‑GPS, expertise in composites and sandwich structures, and a willingness to thrive in an ambiguous, high‑impact environment.
