Structural Engineer

Santiago Calatrava is seeking experienced Structural Engineers to work on unique and challenging international building and bridge projects. The role is based at their Head Office in Zurich. The company is known for its innovative and demanding projects in the field of architecture and engineering. The main responsibilities of the role include structural design in both building and bridge construction throughout all phases of the design process. This involves technical project management, developing structural concepts in reinforced concrete, steel, and timber construction, and coordinating construction drawings. The role also requires coordination with other disciplines and specialists, preparing structural reports and tender documentation, and presenting planning results. Depending on the applicant's profile, project management and client/stakeholder management may also be part of the role. To be considered for this role, candidates must have a University Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience. They should also be a Chartered, Professional Engineer or have equivalent status, or be working towards such an accreditation. Experience in medium to large-scale building, bridge, or other infrastructure projects, preferably from concept design through to on-site construction, is essential. Additionally, experience coordinating with other consultants and proficiency in FEM modelling software, with preference given to those with experience using Sofistik, SAP2000, or Cubus software suites, is required. Nice-to-have skills include fluency in English and/or German, with other languages being considered a plus. The ideal candidate is organised, efficient, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. They should also have great communication skills. The role is based in Zurich, and candidates must have EU or Swiss Nationality or be otherwise eligible for employment in Switzerland.
