Adfinis, a Swiss‑based specialist in open‑source driven digital transformation, is expanding its Cloud Native stream of 25 experts. The team helps clients migrate, design, and operate resilient cloud‑native infrastructures. They are looking for a Senior System Engineer who will act as the technical lead on demanding customer projects and serve as the single point of contact for selected Service Level Agreements. In this role you will steer complex engagements, lead technical discussions with high‑pressure stakeholders, and translate ambiguous requirements into clear implementation steps. You will anticipate organisational and delivery risks, communicate them early, and keep projects on track. Daily tasks include managing critical systems, applying updates, resolving incidents, planning sophisticated multi‑cloud or on‑premises platforms, and providing high‑priority support while mentoring junior colleagues. The position requires five to eight years of experience as a system engineer in cloud environments and a solid DevOps background covering CNCF and HashiCorp stacks, GitLab, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, DevSecOps, IaC and GitOps. You must have broad experience in software development, cloud migration and platform engineering, strong networking knowledge, and the ability to spot and remediate security vulnerabilities early. Improving and creating automation, aligning technology, architecture and business needs, and delivering high‑quality work with full ownership are essential. Soft‑skill expectations include understanding client needs, building trust‑based relationships, proactive risk identification, a solution‑focused mindset, and hands‑on support during critical incidents while keeping stakeholders aligned. Nice‑to‑have assets are proficiency in written and spoken German, certifications such as GitLab, IBM (HashiCorp), Red Hat or SUSE, experience with SUSE products, and cloud provider certifications for AWS, Azure or GCP.
