Aerospace Composites Engineer - Team Lead

The Aerospace Composites Engineer, Team Lead will head the creation of cutting‑edge composite structures for an aerospace supplier based in Stans, Switzerland. The position is fully onsite and permanent, reporting to senior program management. On a daily basis the role drives the whole lifecycle of composite components, from initial requirement definition through certification and in‑service support. It includes supervising design work, structural analysis and component evaluation while guaranteeing compliance with engineering and regulatory standards. The engineer works hand‑in‑hand with design, manufacturing, materials, testing, certification and programme groups to deliver robust solutions, leads new‑development and improvement projects, monitors schedules, budgets and risks, and keeps stakeholders informed. The job also involves assessing and introducing new materials, technologies and production methods, as well as coordinating technical activities with suppliers and external partners. The candidate must hold a Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Engineering or a closely related discipline and bring more than ten years of experience in designing, developing, analysing and certifying composite structures. A deep grasp of composite structural engineering, including design, analysis, testing, manufacturing and certification, is essential, together with proven leadership of engineering teams and cross‑functional project coordination. Familiarity with the complete product development cycle, solid knowledge of composite materials and design‑for‑manufacturing principles, and awareness of aerospace certification requirements are required. Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities and fluency in English are also mandatory. German at a B2 level is considered a plus, and the role offers the chance to work in a multidisciplinary environment that values innovation, continuous improvement and close collaboration with suppliers.
