Intern Engineering

Parker MEGGITT, a worldwide leader that researches, designs, integrates, manufactures, certifies and supports flight‑control, hydraulic, fuel and other high‑tech systems, operates a facility in Fribourg, Switzerland where complete condition‑monitoring and vibration‑measurement solutions are created for aerospace and energy markets. The company is offering a six‑month master‑level internship within its Motion, Power, Sensing Division. The intern will devise and build a semi‑automated process that gathers hazardous‑substance compliance information from multiple sources. Tasks include pulling bill‑of‑materials and material composition data from SAP/ERP and other repositories, transforming the data, calculating substance amounts for each component, and assembling a Bill of Substances. The solution must generate REACH and RoHS compliance declarations, produce material‑composition reports, and deliver auditable outputs. Core deliverables comprise a full workflow diagram, a unified data schema, an ETL prototype written in Python and SQL, a rules engine to assess substance thresholds, an automated document generator with version control and digital signing, a sample compliance dashboard, and a standardized supplier‑communication package. Applicants should be studying Data Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computational Science or a comparable discipline. They need practical knowledge of ETL design, data normalisation, and integration techniques for SAP/ERP via APIs, OData or RFC, as well as experience handling JSON, CSV or Excel files.
