Dam Instrumentation Expert

Gruner is seeking a Dam Instrumentation Expert to join its Delhi office and support the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP), a World Bank‑backed effort spanning ten years across nineteen Indian states and several central agencies. The initiative aims to raise the safety and operational efficiency of selected dams while strengthening related institutions. The incumbent will act as the primary liaison for the DHARMA system, overseeing the review and finalisation of all instrumentation action plans and coordinating the set‑up of central control centres in state capitals as well as individual dam control rooms. Responsibilities include managing data acquisition, transmission, processing and reporting, maintaining installed instrumentation, guaranteeing the provision of required hardware and software, and drafting technical bid packages such as bills of quantities and specifications. The role also involves delivering customised training for implementing agencies, contributing to the revision of guidelines, updating the national dam‑safety portal, conducting site inspections, and supporting any specialist panels convened by the project director or the Central Water Commission. Candidates must hold an engineering degree and possess at least a decade of experience in planning dam instrumentation, preparing technical specifications, working with SCADA and surveillance systems, automating control processes, analysing data, and supervising the installation and commissioning of instrumentation on a minimum of three large dams. The position is based in Delhi and offers the chance to work within Gruner’s global network of roughly 1,100 professionals operating from more than 35 locations. The company promotes a lively workplace where teamwork and personal development are highly valued, providing a platform for growth on a high‑visibility, multi‑phase infrastructure programme.
