Kubernetes Platform Architect

The role of a vKS Application Engineer at Broadcom involves working with enterprise customers to drive the adoption of VMware Kubernetes Service (vKS) on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). The vKS Platform Engineering team focuses on enabling enterprise success with vKS, aiming to accelerate its adoption as a modern application platform in private clouds. The main day-to-day responsibilities include acting as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, guiding them through the design, validation, and deployment of vKS solutions. This involves leading technical discovery sessions, workshops, and proof-of-concepts to validate vKS architectures and demonstrate business value. The role also requires collaborating with field account teams and sales to develop customer proposals that address modernization goals, workload placement, and operational transformation. Additionally, the engineer will provide prescriptive guidance on Kubernetes adoption, CI-CD integration, and DevOps enterprise requirements, and deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences. To qualify for this role, candidates must have deep technical expertise in containers and a leading Kubernetes distribution, as well as strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (vSphere, vSAN, NSX). A minimum of 8–10+ years in technology-related roles, with a focus on enterprise IT architecture, application modernization, or cloud-native platforms, is required. Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to work closely with sales teams. Candidates must also have a proven ability to identify challenges, design solutions, and articulate value in business terms. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is necessary. Nice-to-have skills include thought leadership experience and specialization in verticals such as Telco, FSI, and LATAM. The role requires the ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
