The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is an expanding international nonprofit focused on combating infectious diseases, and it is looking for a voluntary Accountant Trainee to reinforce the financial management of its Geneva office. This entry‑level position suits a meticulous individual who enjoys bringing order to financial data and assisting the leadership team with accurate reporting and decision‑making. Day‑to‑day duties involve keeping the Geneva ledger current, logging revenues, expenses, invoices and other monetary movements, and handling the flow of payments, reimbursements and supporting paperwork. Regular reconciliation of bank statements, systematic filing of receipts, contracts and invoices, and contribution to monthly and periodic reporting are also required. The role supports budget tracking, interacts with suppliers and consultants, and coordinates with external accountants, auditors and banks when needed. Additionally, the trainee will help draft year‑end documentation, propose improvements to accounting procedures, and cooperate with HR, administration and other IDA units on finance‑related issues. Applicants should possess formal study or hands‑on experience in accounting, finance, business administration or a related discipline, and have previously performed accounting or financial administration tasks. Familiarity with the Swiss or Geneva accounting framework is highly valued. Candidates must demonstrate strong organisational abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capacity to maintain clear, complete records. Proficiency with Google Workspace—especially Sheets and Drive—is expected, while experience with accounting software is a plus. Clear written and verbal communication, a sense of responsibility, discretion, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential, as is a willingness to commit roughly fifteen hours per week. The voluntary nature of the role offers a rare chance to shape the financial foundations of a growing global‑health
