Pinterest is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for 2027 to join their team in Zurich. The intern will work closely with mentors and various teams, including product, design, data, and engineering, to build new technologies, features, and tools. The main responsibilities of the intern will include completing assigned technical projects with a focus on quality, executing technical tasks from start to finish, and delivering well-documented, tested, and operable code. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with the team on production-oriented projects that support Pinterest's goals and leverage opportunities to connect with leaders and colleagues across the company. To qualify for this role, candidates must be currently enrolled in a program working towards a Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related technical field and must obtain the degree by June 2028. They should have a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms. Familiarity with AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool is also required, as well as experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++. Non-academic coding experience, such as participation in hackathons, code challenges, or personal projects, is also necessary. A curious nature with a desire to tackle and solve complex problems is essential. Nice-to-have skills include an interest in learning how to use AI-powered technologies responsibly to improve product development. The internship will be based in the Zurich office, requiring a few days in the office for in-person collaboration. The program will run full-time during typical business hours between Monday and Friday, with the need to be in the office 2-3 weekdays per week.
