Client Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Fixed Income

Vontobel, a leading investment firm with more than CHF 114 bn in client assets and a presence in Zurich, New York, London and other locations, is looking for a Client Portfolio Manager to champion its Emerging Markets Fixed Income flagship. The role sits within the Fixed Income boutique and reports to the head of Fixed Income CPM, acting as the primary liaison between the investment team and clients, prospects and consultants. On a daily basis you will craft and verify investment messaging, marketing collateral and written content, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance. You will lead the preparation and delivery of RFP responses, client‑engagement materials and follow‑up communications, setting a high‑quality benchmark. The position also involves representing the Emerging Markets Fixed Income team in meetings, roadshows and performance reviews, while working closely with regional client teams, portfolio managers and senior management to execute the engagement plan. The employer requires a genuine passion for Emerging Markets Fixed Income and the ability to convey that enthusiasm to stakeholders. A proven track record of building business books in client‑facing environments, including winning final presentations, is essential. Candidates must have at least two years of Fixed Income sell‑side experience within an institutional investment firm, hold a bachelor's degree in finance or a related discipline, and be native‑level German with fluent English. Strong competence in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Office and the use of AI‑driven automation tools is also mandatory, as is a willingness to travel extensively for client engagements. Additional assets include a master's degree, CFA or other investment designations, fluency in French or Italian, and programming or scripting abilities such as VBA or Matlab.
