Senior Client Associate South Africa (80-100%)

The Senior Client Associate will join Vontobel’s Private Clients team that serves high‑net‑worth investors in South Africa. Vontobel is a family‑owned, publicly listed investment firm headquartered in Zurich, operating in more than 25 locations worldwide. The role sits within a long‑standing, collaborative group that values both the expertise of its members and fresh ideas from new colleagues. In this position you will take ownership of a client portfolio, ensuring that client needs are placed first. Daily tasks include handling account administration such as cash management, fund transfers, stock‑exchange orders and execution monitoring, as well as renewing fiduciary deposits. You will keep a close eye on risk and compliance signals, support relationship managers with KYC matters, help organise client meetings and assist in preparing investment proposals. The smooth opening and closing of accounts also falls under your remit. The ideal candidate has already worked in a comparable banking role and is comfortable onboarding complex client structures. Fluency in English and strong communication abilities are essential, as is a solid grasp of financial products and market dynamics. Proficiency with standard IT tools, especially the Microsoft Office suite, is required, and the ability to work well within a team and deliver high‑level client service is expected. Experience with the South African market and knowledge of German are considered advantageous but not mandatory.
