Mercor, in collaboration with a leading AI research laboratory, is creating advanced text‑to‑speech technology that can generate voices that sound natural and expressive. The company is looking for native‑level French speakers to provide voice recordings that will train a customer‑experience AI agent, with the recordings used solely for this internal purpose. The work consists of a single recording session lasting about four hours, during which the contributor will read a variety of scripts—ranging from conversational dialogue to instructional narration. The aim is to produce clear, natural, and emotionally nuanced speech, keeping tone, pacing and pronunciation consistent throughout. Participants must follow detailed technical instructions regarding microphone placement, environment, and file format, and may be asked to perform several takes that explore different emotions or emphases. Applicants must be native or near‑native French speakers who speak with a neutral, accent‑free delivery, without strong regional inflections or foreign language influence. A quiet space equipped with a high‑quality microphone, pop filter and similar gear is required, as is the ability to control intonation, diction and emotional expression while staying true to the script.
