The role is for a senior technology leader in the healthcare and life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, payers, and providers. The company is looking for a CTO, CIO, Chief AI Officer, Head of AI/ML Platform, Chief Data Officer, or equivalent, at the VP level or higher, with budget authority. The role involves working with Global 2000 enterprise companies and government agencies. The main responsibilities include evaluating and purchasing open-weight AI models and related post-training and deployment services, particularly for coding and software engineering. This involves defining model strategy for the enterprise, choosing between proprietary, open-weight, and internal models, and selecting vendors. The role requires experience in sectors such as financial services, government, healthcare and life sciences, technology and telecom, industrials and aerospace, and consumer and retail. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI and machine learning, with experience in evaluating and purchasing AI models and related services. Experience in defining model strategy and selecting vendors is essential. Knowledge of prevalent industry practices in the adoption of open-weight AI models and the ability to discuss market evolution is also required.
