Java Spring Boot Software Engineer (all genders)

adesso’s Business Automation line is looking for a Process Automation Engineer who will work as a Java Spring Boot Software Engineer. In this position you will translate real‑world processes into executable BPMN 2.0, CMMN and DMN models, run them on engines such as Camunda, Flowable or UiPath Maestro, and back them with well‑tested Java services. Your tasks include building the service tasks, wiring them to the existing landscape through REST APIs and message‑based integrations, and tuning the workflow engine for performance and scalability. Close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders is required to turn complex processes into robust, automated solutions, while also influencing engine choices and reusable building blocks. The role demands a completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science or a comparable field, or an IT apprenticeship, together with at least three years of relevant professional experience. You must speak English fluently and have C1‑level German, possess an agile mindset, strong communication and presentation skills, and be comfortable using AI tools. Core technical skills include Java with Spring Boot, JUnit and mocking, SQL/JPA/ORM, Maven or Gradle, Git, RESTful services, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, OAuth 2.0/OIDC and familiarity with Scrum, Kanban or SAFe.
