Alstom, a global provider of rail‑based transport solutions, is hiring a Junior Traction Project Manager for its Zürich office. The company designs and delivers high‑speed trains, metros, trams, signalling and digital mobility services, employing tens of thousands of people worldwide to promote greener travel. In this VIE position you will support the delivery of international traction projects. Reporting to the Site Project Director, you will work side‑by‑side with engineers, quality specialists, procurement staff, finance, customers and suppliers. Your daily tasks involve tracking the status of key components such as transformers, converters, pantographs, batteries and related high‑voltage equipment, updating a shared project dashboard, and ensuring that all data entered by colleagues is current and reliable. You will also help maintain a design‑maturity checklist, contribute to risk and opportunity logs, and assist the Project Management Office in standardising reporting across sites. The role requires a university degree in engineering (Bachelor's or Master's). You must be comfortable using PowerBI, Power Automate and SharePoint for data visualisation and workflow automation. The job calls for a genuine enthusiasm for project management, the ability to organise and align multi‑site, multi‑discipline teams, and the confidence to make independent decisions when quality, cost or delivery are at stake. Strong leadership flair, an entrepreneurial attitude, and a proactive, resourceful mindset are essential. Effective communication, negotiation skills, adaptability, solid time‑management, attention to detail, and some experience or awareness of conflict and crisis handling are also required.
