Sécheron Hasler Group, a Swiss‑engineered global supplier of high‑power electrical and electronic equipment, creates solutions for railways, renewable‑energy grids, DC/AC networks and industrial systems. Within its Electrical Safety Solutions division, the company designs high‑speed circuit breakers and voltage limiters that protect critical infrastructure. The opening in Geneva seeks a Power Electronics R&D Engineer to join this safety‑focused team. The engineer will explore new power‑electronics technologies applicable to rail transport, DC micro‑grids, industrial power and other electrification projects. Daily work includes conducting feasibility and proof‑of‑concept studies, building simulation models, defining test methods and spotting chances for performance gains or cost cuts. The role also involves drafting technology roadmaps, supporting business development by identifying fresh uses for fast‑switching circuit breakers, and specifying product requirements. Tasks cover evaluating semiconductor devices and converter topologies, running simulations of switching dynamics, losses, thermal behaviour and fault conditions, and assisting hardware development, laboratory validation and demonstrator builds. The engineer will take part in design reviews, produce technical documentation, address field issues, and collaborate with mechanical, thermal, system and test specialists, while also helping with industrialisation and maintenance of existing protection products. Applicants must hold a master’s degree in electrical engineering, power electronics or a related discipline and possess solid expertise in power‑electronics and semiconductor switching. Practical experience with devices such as IGBT, GTO, MOSFET and SiC
