The role of Actuary & Senior Data Scientist - Non-Life EME CoE (m/f/d) at Zurich Insurance Group involves transforming data into valuable business insights and driving innovation within an international setting. The role also involves acting as a key contact for IT-related questions, driving data improvement projects, and educating actuarial colleagues on the efficient use of AI and data transformation tools. Ensuring the security, stability, and efficiency of reserving processes is a key part of the job, as is fostering innovation and collaboration across the region. To excel in this role, candidates must have strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in developing AI solutions and AI agents using Claude Code or similar tools. Familiarity with Power BI, DAX, and Power Query is beneficial. Previous experience in a data-science related role within the insurance industry is essential. A team-oriented, curious, and positive personality, supported by strong communication and stakeholder management skills, is crucial. Nice-to-have skills include additional European languages beyond English. The position is based in Oerlikon, Zurich, and offers a hybrid working environment with up to 40% remote work. The role requires up to 10% travel per year and can be either part-time or full-time, with a start date from November 1, 2026, or by agreement. What the role asks for: - Strong programming skills in Python or R. - Experience developing AI solutions and AI agents using Claude Code or similar tools. - Previous experience in a data-science related role in the insurance industry. - A Master's degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, actuarial sciences, computer science, or a related field. - Either a completed or partly completed actuarial qualification or a willingness to pursue one. - Fluent English. - Familiarity with Power BI, DAX and Power Query (nice-to-have).
