BASEL OFFICE - Manager Learning & Development

Viking, a worldwide leader in experiential travel that operates more than a hundred vessels across rivers, oceans and continents, is looking for a Manager Learning & Development to join its Basel office. Reporting to the Director of Learning & Development, the role focuses on creating training material and delivering powerful learning experiences for staff who work aboard the ships. Each day the incumbent will craft and present in‑person programmes that cover guest service excellence, leadership, behavioural skills, company values, onboarding and employee wellbeing. They will also maintain the yearly training schedule, organise all logistical details, and develop follow‑up activities that reinforce what participants have learned. Close collaboration with ship‑based operations will be required to identify learning gaps, while the manager will run train‑the‑trainer workshops for both permanent and temporary facilitators. Coordination with the broader L&D team ensures consistent messaging and methods, and partnership with the Digital Learning Manager supports the creation of online solutions.
