Product Owner – Production Planning for Aircraft Maintenance

Swiss AviationSoftware, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, develops the market‑leading AMOS suite that supports maintenance, engineering and logistics for airlines worldwide. The Basel‑based Product Management team is expanding and seeks a Product Owner who will steer the Production Planning for Aircraft Maintenance module, turning aviation expertise into software that meets the needs of more than 200 global customers. In this role you will define and maintain the product vision, roadmap and backlog for the Production Planning solution. Daily tasks involve gathering and analysing customer and industry requirements, converting them into clear specifications, and prioritising development work according to business value and strategic goals. You will work hand‑in‑hand with aviation specialists, customers, and the software development squads throughout design, implementation and validation, ensuring that releases deliver measurable improvements. Continuous feedback loops, performance monitoring and alignment with evolving aviation regulations and emerging technologies are also part of the routine. The position requires proven experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst or in a comparable software‑product capacity, together with deep knowledge of aviation maintenance and production planning processes. Candidates must be comfortable with Agile product development principles and be able to translate complex business challenges into precise software requirements. Strong analytical, organisational, communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for bridging the gap between customers, experts and developers. A background in MRO software or related aviation systems is highly desirable, as is a university degree in aviation engineering, computer science or a similar field.
