Product Development Specialist - Thermoplastics Elastomers

Celanese seeks a Product Development Specialist – Thermoplastic Elastomers to serve as the technical lead for its Hytrel® TPC portfolio, supporting the company’s broader polymer business. In this position you will keep product launch standards aligned with manufacturing abilities and client expectations, address critical production or supply challenges for both internal groups and external partners, and ensure the integrity of product information while linking material traits to new markets and uses. You will also be responsible for creating fresh Hytrel® TPC offerings as projects arise. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering, together with at least five years of hands‑on experience in thermoplastic processing, product or application development, or technical service for engineering polymers. Candidates must possess solid knowledge of polymer testing methods, the ability to coordinate goals across technical, commercial, and operational teams, and a track record of resolving intricate product or process problems. Strong written, oral, and presentation skills, as well as the capacity to juggle several initiatives in a cross‑functional setting, are essential. Preferred qualifications include a master’s or doctoral degree in a related field, deep expertise with thermoplastic elastomer compounds and semi‑crystalline polymers, and familiarity with injection molding, compounding, and twin‑screw extrusion. Experience with statistical process control, design of experiments, Six Sigma, product launch support, and sustainability or recycled‑content initiatives will be viewed favorably.
