Gas Engine Specialist (m/f/x)

The Gas Engine Specialist position at Liebherr Machines Bulle SA focuses on building and disseminating technical expertise on gas engines for the company's development teams. Liebherr designs and manufactures equipment for power generation, and this role supports the creation of efficient, high‑performance gas‑engine solutions. Every day you will work with cross‑functional technical groups to shape engine design, combustion strategies, control systems and specific applications. Your tasks include analysing technical requirements, creating functional specifications, benchmarking gas‑engine technologies for generator sets, and leading root‑cause investigations for issues found on test benches or in the field. You will also gather customer needs, translate them into technical terms, and coordinate with internal and external partners to keep projects aligned with standards and processes. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Energy Engineering (or a comparable technical discipline) and brings extensive experience in gas‑engine development for power‑generation use. You must possess deep knowledge of current gas‑engine technologies and have managed complex development projects from feasibility through to production readiness. Fluency in English and German is required, while French knowledge is considered a plus. Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, CRM and ERP systems, together with strong analytical and structured problem‑solving abilities, are also essential.
