Senior Data Engineer – Data Analytics Platform 80-100% (f/m/d) - (Contract through our external payroll partner with immediate start for 12 months with possible extension)

Julius Baer, the leading Swiss wealth‑management group, is expanding its Data Analytics Platform and seeks a senior data engineer to help shape the foundation for analytics and AI across the firm. The role sits within a global team that supports sophisticated private clients and contributes to the bank’s vision of creating value beyond wealth. In this position you will create and sustain data pipelines and backend services that enable real‑time decision making, reporting and data collection. You will write secure, well‑tested code, build tools that improve data governance, and implement processes that safeguard data quality and security throughout the platform. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data analytics, information systems or a comparable field, or possesses equivalent professional training. You bring at least five years of experience in ETL/ELT, data warehousing and business‑intelligence environments, and have built end‑to‑end data systems using Python, Scala or similar languages. Proficiency with SQL for analysis and troubleshooting, hands‑on work with Azure‑based cloud data services, CI/CD pipelines, and large‑scale processing frameworks such as Databricks, PySpark, Spark Streaming and Delta Lake is required. Experience handling structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data across relational, warehouse, in‑memory and document stores, as well as familiarity with Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, data‑modeling principles (Data Vault a plus), event‑driven architectures (Kafka, Event Hubs, Flink) and containerised micro‑services (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm) is essential.
