Senior Avaloq & Securities Accounting Specialist

The position of Senior Avaloq & Securities Accounting Specialist sits within Vontobel’s Finance Hub in Zurich, supporting the firm’s securities accounting and reporting function. Vontobel is a family‑owned, publicly listed investment bank with more than 2,300 professionals operating from over 25 locations worldwide. In this role you will act as the go‑to expert for Avaloq Accounting and the ePOCA securities sub‑ledger, overseeing the full lifecycle of financial‑instrument accounting—from transaction import to booking export. You will keep the accounting configuration up to date with new business needs and regulatory updates, drive automation and transformation projects, and ensure precise booking, valuation and reconciliation of instruments. The job also involves providing accounting data for Group Finance, statutory reporting, tax and other internal users while complying with IFRS, FINMA and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with sub‑ledger systems in a banking setting, particularly Avaloq, ePOCA or SAP TRM, and a solid background in securities accounting and investment operations such as corporate actions and income events. Proven ability to work with SAP S/4HANA, data‑warehouse reporting, and tax accounting for financial instruments is required, together with strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a proactive, hands‑on attitude. Project and transformation experience, especially around sub‑ledger implementations, is also essential. Additional assets include familiarity with AI‑enabled tools, experience with reporting solutions, and a willingness to adopt new technologies.
