Lead - Sample Maker

The Lead – Sample Maker role sits at the heart of a company that designs athletic and ready‑to‑wear apparel, turning innovative sportswear concepts into functional, high‑performance garments for a global market. As a key member of the design and development organization, you will work closely with pattern engineers, product developers and designers to bring product ideas to life. Your daily work will involve building prototypes, muslins and mock‑ups from technical specifications and patterns, selecting the best fabrics, trims and stitching methods for demanding apparel, and troubleshooting any construction issues that arise. You will also help move prototypes into full production, guarantee that every sample meets strict standards for stitching, durability and finish, keep your workspace orderly, and stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and advanced sewing techniques. The position requires at least eight years of hands‑on experience as a Sample Maker, Sample Sewer or a comparable role within apparel manufacturing environments such as factories, sample rooms or tailoring shops. You must be proficient with industrial sewing equipment—including single‑needle, overlock and coverstitch machines—and be able to read patterns, spec sheets and technical sketches. A solid grasp of garment construction, pattern interpretation and the ability to work with both stretch and non‑stretch fabrics are essential, as is a meticulous eye for quality craftsmanship. Additional assets include familiarity with digital pattern‑making tools such as Gerber or Lectra and a basic understanding of garment dyeing, washing or textile printing methods like DTF and DTG.
