Robotics Technology Deployment Steward (Device, Packaging and Distribution)

The Pharma Technical Operations Global MSAT and Engineering function (PTT) is leading a significant modernization initiative, integrating scalable manufacturing technologies to enhance product and process robustness, efficiency, and reliability. This role focuses on deploying state-of-the-art robotics and automation technologies within Roche's commercial manufacturing and logistics environments. The main responsibilities of the Technology Deployment Manager, Robotics & Automation include leading complex robotics deployment projects, driving feasibility assessments and pilot implementations, and converting global technology roadmaps into site-level execution plans. The role also involves establishing and validating global standards for hardware, software, and cybersecurity, and acting as a cross-functional liaison between various departments. Additionally, the position requires managing the lifecycle of robotics and automation vendors, from technical evaluation to performance monitoring. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Preferred qualifications include certifications in Business Administration, Change Management, or Systems Engineering. Candidates should have at least 6 years of hands-on experience in robotics integration, complex automation deployment, or manufacturing engineering within highly regulated industries. Direct involvement in major Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) project lifecycles, including Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV), is also required. Nice-to-have skills include a solid grasp of IT/OT layers (SCADA/MES) and basic data processing/coding literacy, such as Python or SQL. Experience deploying assembly and packaging automation within Device, Packaging & Distribution environments, as well as expertise with high-speed discrete robotics, collaborative robots (cobots), track-and-trace serialization, auto-injector assembly, or robotic palletizing, is beneficial.
