Monte Rosa Therapeutics is looking for a skilled professional to fill a temporary role as a Contractor - Discovery Cellular Assays. The company focuses on advancing its drug discovery pipeline. The role involves hands-on work in cellular assays and molecular biology. The main tasks include creating and refining cellular assays to support drug profiling and mechanism studies. This involves a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques, such as maintaining mammalian cell cultures, using CRISPR/Cas9 for gene editing, and analyzing DNA/RNA. The role also includes developing and optimizing assay protocols, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the transition of assays into scalable workflows. Additionally, the contractor will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to execute experimental plans and resolve technical challenges. To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant life sciences field, such as Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology. They should have 2-3+ years of experience in cellular and molecular biology, with a strong focus on mammalian cell culture and cell-line engineering. Proficiency in CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and experience with cell-based assay development are essential. Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with high-throughput screening and automation platforms. The role is based in a collaborative environment, with opportunities for continuous improvement and adherence to safety procedures. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related Life Sciences discipline - 2-3+ years of relevant industry or research experience in cellular and molecular biology - Strong hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and cell-line generation/engineering - Practical experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing and characterization of engineered cell lines - Experience with cell-based assay development and execution, ideally in a drug discovery or compound-profiling environment - Experience with protein extraction and Western blotting - Familiarity with assay technologies such as fluorescence, luminescence, TR-FRET, AlphaScreen, or related homogeneous assay platforms - Experience with high-throughput screening, automation, or liquid-handling platforms (nice to have)
